Custom-made lockers

For the color of the locker, I chose a black and white color. In addition, since I have ordered a transparent lock, I need to order the lock of the locker to be an ordinary door padlock.

Make the interview

Make an appointment for an interview with two of my friends who have been troubled by depression to share their depression experience and mood. According to their situation, different installation art can be conceived, so that participants can feel their mood through the works.

Based on the content of the interview and the communication of the interviewees in their daily life, they conceived the contents of their locker grids. Details can be found in Sketch.

Test material

Test the effects of different resins and select materials suitable for the work. The test results show that the finished product of gem resin will slightly glow with blue light, but the overall finished product is relatively clear. The transparency of the finished ice clear resin is not as high as that of gem resin, but the finished product will not glow with blue light.

Modify the key cabinet I ordered

Because the key cabinet I ordered originally had only 6 positions for hanging keys, and its exterior color did not match my work as a whole, and its acrylic panels were too fancy. So I sprayed it black with spray paint, replaced its acrylic board, and changed its original hooks to branches as hooks. Because branches are the products of nature, they are more suitable for depression than metal hooks, giving people a kind of depression that is actually very common.

The locker's padlock is too tight

Because the padlock hook piece of the locker is too close to the locker, the locker needs a lot of force to open. This situation will seriously affect the experience of the participants, because I want the participants to pay attention to the physical structure of the transparent lock. If the lock is too tight, it will divert the participant's focus.

I ordered some round metal washers with a 13mm outer ring, 8mm inner diameter and 1.6mm thick, which are placed between the padlock hook piece and the lock head. Two pieces of each lock head are superimposed, and the hook piece is heightened to increase the hook. The distance between the film and the locker, so participants can easily open the locker door.

Make sculptures inlaid with glass

1. Draw a sketch first and divide the blocks.

2. Draw the number.

3. Cut the glass.

4. Try to put them together.

5. Wrap each piece of glass with aluminum foil edging.

6. First fix one side of the glass with tape.

7. Soldering with tin wire.

8. Repeat the previous steps to make another "question mark".

9. Weld two pieces of glass on an iron wire.

Making "A" plaster sculpture

1. Draw the words first.

2. Draw on the PVC film according to the paper pattern.

3. Cropping the PVC film.

4. Glue the cut PVC film with a hot melt glue gun.

5. Test whether there will be water leakage, and fill the leaking place with more hot melt glue.

6. Pour in the mixed gypsum slurry.

7. Polish the plaster.

Making "A" plaster sculpture

1. Stir the impression powder.

2. Put your hands in with your mother and wait for the impression powder to solidify.

3. Chat with your mother so that you can communicate with each other.

4. After the impression powder has solidified, take out your hand.

5. Pour in the mixed gypsum slurry and wait for the gypsum to dry and solidify.

The first version of the plaster failed, because the impression powder might not have completely solidified at the time, so that the finger sculptures were broken after being poured into the plaster.

6. Repeat steps 1-5 to make the second version.

The second version of the impression powder is not enough, so the second version of the plaster only has half a hand.

7. Repeat steps 1-5 to make the third version.

8. Obtain the finished product, and polish it after it is completely dry.

Collect real pills and fake capsules

1. Randomly invite friends around you to write encouraging words.

2. Put the encouragement note into the fake capsule.

3. Collect real pills of different colors.

4. Separate the real pills from the fake capsules according to their colors.

5. Put the real pills and the fake capsules into the test tube according to the color of the rainbow.

The test tube of the real pill is thinner, and the test tube of the fake capsule is thicker, because the most effective way to fight depression is the support of people around you, while drug control is auxiliary, which is to use scientific methods to temporarily secrete more beneficial effects in our brains. Substances that fight depression. But for a long time, we have to rely on our overall thinking to change and have greater invisible power to fight depression.
